Finger Reader

An alternative to the Proximity Reader for self check-in is using the Finger Reader. Parents and staff can check themselves in, without the need to carry a prox card. The scanners read finger prints as a means of identification. Scans are stored in the system as a numerical code so images are not stored or reproducible. The proximity reader is still needed for scanning pagers. Each Finger Reader connects to a computer via attached six foot USB cable. Finger Readers require the Parent Pager Finger ID Agent Software, which is the interface between the Finger Readers and the Parent Pager database. The Finger ID Agent manages and maintains the Finger IDs and reader licensing. One Finger ID Agent is required per site when implementing any number of Finger Readers.
