Proximity Card Reader
Proximity Readers are an option when the Express self check-in is used to allow parents to check in their children by themselves. If pagers are used, Parent Pager Proximity Readers are required on each computer used in Express self check-in and Staffed modes. The Parent Pager Proximity Readers will read Parent Pager Proximity ID Cards, 906C and 504C pagers at a distance of 4 inches. The Proximity Reader is non-visual meaning that parents and staff do not have to “dig out” their card; the reader will read their card while it is in their purse, wallet or diaper bag. The Proximity Reader is connected to the computer with a 6 foot USB cable.
